Well, meat producers are following in the dairy industry's big footsteps. Four states have now made it illegal to

misuse the term meat. Missouri was first, followed by Mississippi and South Dakota. The Montana

legislature recently passed a similar bill which is awaiting that governor's signature. In those states,

the legislation says you can now name a food meat only if it comes from an animal, not a plant, and most certainly not a cell culture.

In addition, 10 other state legislatures are considering similar bans.

The campaign is a legislative attempt to stem the tide of consumers choosing to go meatless.
