Hey there, I am so glad that we get to serve you today through this podcast.

I pray God is going to speak to you.

I've heard people in the faith talk about what Dietrich Bonhoeffer and several other

theologians would call the dark night of the soul.

And I could almost talk about anything else without wanting to close my ears,

but every single time someone brought up this subject, I didn't want to talk about it.

I said, I'm going to tell you something, that would be my worst nightmare.

That would be my worst nightmare.

Do you know what theologians call it?

A season of time, however short or long it may be,

when you somehow just do not know where God is.

So you might know what I'm talking about.

Now please don't misunderstand what I'm telling you

because he never leaves us nor forsakes us.

And when he comes to dwell in us, when we receive him as our personal

Savior, he is dwelling in us and we are sealed under the day of our redemption and he's not going

anywhere. But you know times that I'm talking about when you're going like the psalmist,

sovereign Lord, how long? Where are you? Why do you hide your face from me? I'm going to tell you, I would hear

people talk about it over and over again, and I would think to myself, I cannot survive that.

I have survived a lot of things. I've survived some major losses. I've survived some desperate

times. I've survived some very deep winds.

I've survived untold marital problems.
