Now we're talking about meadow gardens which is certainly I think it's on the rise.

I know a book came out recently about it and I am just totally blanking on the name

right now but I really haven't done it too much and so if you could describe maybe for

people what would qualify or classify as a meadow garden?

So for me it is pollinator friendly plants and mostly what I enjoy filling my space with

this things that are really easy so just where I can maybe remove a bit of sod here at

my current home we removed a bunch of sod.

We had installed a fence actually because we live on a busy road we have two small children

and in order for them to be kind of safe in the garden space with me we put a fence

around the space but one of the things that was really frustrating was trying to mow

the lawn up against the fence and then having to get the like weed whacker out and take

everything down to make it look really nice.

So what I decided to do here was actually pull the grass back a few feet off of the fence

line and just broadcast a ton of regionally adapted seeds.

I actually purchased seeds from a company called American Meadows.

They have a really fantastic website that will help you source regionally adapted seeds

and they make a ton of different mixes with annuals, perennials, biennials in it.
