So after class is over, we're all just chit-chatting, and the subject of

McDonald's came up, which is a term that's been around longer than I've been born, right?

A McDojo is a gym that churns out belts like they're running a conveyor belt for colored sashes.

In a McDojo, the focus is on getting you that next shiny belt as quickly as possible, conveniently

right after your next payment clears.

And when we were talking, there was a guy there.

It was his first official class.

Then everyone leaves and he just kind of hangs back before I'm able to lock the door and close up.

And he goes, hey man, I'm a little embarrassed.

Could you tell me what a Madojo is?

Y'all were talking about that.

I don't know what that is. And so I explained which my ideology of what that is now is different. Like the definition for me has changed a lot. But I

told them what I thought of McDojo was. And he asked me the simplest question. He goes, why doesn't

anybody do anything about that? I don't know. That's a good question. That is a good day one

white belt question, which is why. I started trying to find things that were tangible.

Like, this is something I can unequivocally prove that is not an opinion.

And then I just made a list of five rules.

And after that, over the last 12 years of doing McDougal life, I've been able to help a lot of people, but those rules have not wavered.

And I'm open to being wrong.

I'm open to adding more.

But those rules are pretty much stuff to say.
