What's up everybody? Welcome into the next Pats podcast. I'm Phil Perry. We have a great episode lined up for you this week. We're bringing in Devin McCordy to talk all things Pats, including Drake May and his approach to the game. Football is simple. It's people

who complicate this thing. I love that quote from Drake May, but we're going to dig into it

a little bit deeper with McCordy and what that sort of approach tells McCordy about the Patriots

young quarterback. We're also going to talk about maybe using Drake May a little bit more when it

comes to the designed running game. The Patriots have been loath to do that. They even run them on

a quarterback sneak to this point in his young career. Are they changing how they approach things

in that regard moving forward for the rest of the 2024 season. Indications are, yes, they very well

might. We're also going to talk a little bit about the defense and what he thinks of the job

to Marcus Covington is doing for the Patriots. What exactly happened with Christian Gonzalez against

the Rams and why was he not on Pooka andakua or Cooper Cup on every single passing play in that

Week 11 game for the Patriots?

Because that might have made a difference, quite frankly.

But first, I just want to share with you a few things when it comes to the opinions of others

on Drake May and what the numbers say about just how impressive Drake May's performance

has been to this point in his rookie season.

I've had the opportunity to speak to a number of coaches over the course of the last several

weeks about Drake May, what they've seen from this Patriots offense, obviously orchestrated

by Alex Van Pelt.

But May is the trigger man and he's impressing everyone who has the opportunity to watch him and game plan for him,

whether it's the Tennessee Titans coaching staff who were fearful of his arm strength,

which he had already put on display in games leading up to that point.
