There are many challenges we must meet to deliver for the American people and each will have my full effort and attention.

I still have enough gas in my tank to thoroughly disappoint my critics and I intend to do

so with all the enthusiasm with which they become accustomed. So to my colleagues, thank you for entrusting me with

Welcome back to the Ruthless Variety Program. It has been an eventful week here in Washington, D.C. with the Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, of whom I am an unabashed and

unapologetic fan of, and I realize that that is impolitic in many circles today, and frankly I don't give a shit.

Yeah I don't either. The guy is incredible and he has delivered more conservative

victories than anybody who claims to be one over the last however many years that he's been doing this and

You know look as an emotional day from that standpoint. I think the good news from this

perspective is that he's self-aware and for a new generation of leadership,

something our current occupant of the White House seems not to understand.

And... current occupant of the White House seems not to understand.

And we'll talk more about that, but I, you know, I've, look, I've got a lot of observations.

This has been a big week personally for some of us who've played some small role in what he's done

over the years and are immensely proud of it and I you know the political

environment in and of itself doesn't reward a lot of that these days.

And that's okay. I think history probably does better than modern times and almost anybody who's worth the shit.

At least that's what it's been up to this point in American history.
