Before we start this episode, I feel compelled to say something about what's happening in Israel.

As the child of a Holocaust survivor, I am angered beyond measure about the atrocities that occurred last weekend when Hamas attacked and slaughtered over a thousand Israelis in what can only be called

sheer barbarism. There was nothing political or strategic about what occurred. It was a slaughter,

and to students of history, a pogrom.

The unbridled horror that has unfolded is not just an assault on a nation.

It is an assault on humanity itself.

These are not just numbers flashing on a news screen.

These are human lives snuffed out in the blink of an eye, women,

children, families that will never again be whole. There can be no justification, no reasoning,

no political or ideological argument that can ever sanitize the wanton destruction of innocent lives.

No grievance, no matter how severe, gives anyone the right to murder innocent civilians,

to orphaned children, to widowed spouses, and to terrorize entire communities.

Least of all, to take off the heads of newborn babies, to decapitate toddlers, to put people in cages and burn them alive.
