Welcome to the Courtney Turner Podcast. I am here today with

Monica Perez. She's the host of Deep Dives with Monica Perez. How are you doing

today? I'm fine, thank you. I mean I know a lot of people are depressed because it's the day after the

midterms but I'm a Libertarian I did not have a lot of hope anyway. Right right so we're definitely going to talk about that. But before we do, I want to do back up a little bit and talk a little bit about your story because it's kind of interesting. You give a JD MBA and you went into you were a financial analyst and then you went into

radio yeah it was that all happened totally accidental completely and utterly accidental. So yeah I was just kind of a

mathy person I had an economics undergrad and I I went to I worked in a bank like I grew up I was the youngest of nine so I was totally poor and grew up in New York and I just I really had no concept between

like middle class and rich.

So anybody who had like a clean house I thought was rich.

And so I thought, oh, how to get rich?

They have to be an investment banker. I just started to do that, go down that path and I wanted to go to

business school but for some reason I was don't know, I was so ignorant.

So when you come from an environment where

like your parents didn't go to college,

I had eight older brothers and sisters,

I don't think any, I think one of them went to college
