Those of you who've been around our show for a while, you know that I've been telling you,

you've heard me say it many, many times.

One of the great skills you can teach your children,

how to tell a story.

And you say, well, Michael, I'm not a good storyteller. We do everything by mimicry. You learn to speak and your children learn to speak by mimicking that which is around them.

We repeat what we hear before we know what it means.

Dad, Dad.

We don't know what that means.

But we hear the word.

You keep saying it to me.

I'm gonna repeat back what I can't say

any other words but you keep saying dad-dah I'll say dad-dah it's what babies do and

then dad-dah points to himself and-da points to himself.

And Mama points to Dad-A.

All right, so in time the brain is growing and developing

and all that's Dad-Da.

Okay, when I see him, he's dead.

All right, now when he comes home from work, Dad,

oh my God, the floodgades, Dad has been called Dad-A, his boy knows his,

ah, his girl girl for that matter. Storytelling is everything. When you courted your girl, you told stories. You're not a caveman, just grab her by the hair and drag her, you club in one hand and her hair, her on the ground, and you dragging her to the cave. You told stories back when you gave a damn, back when you wanted to impress her.
