is coming up on Sunday night against the Chargers. This is a massive game as the Chiefs go for their ninth straight AFC West title. And our song of the week today, unbeknownst to Lee Sterling, is his daughter singing the national anthem. I never give away what the song of the week is. I always tease it to the very

Anthem at the Chicago Bears game a couple of weeks ago? It is spectacular. And she was

terrific. And she's lovely and she's an actress as well. And we're so proud of Lee and his family

and his daughter. And we will have that for you. It's all jam-packed

with a lot of topics all right here at KKHI today, where we start with Mayor Q and a report

from the Independent, followed up by the pitch in Kansas City about Quentin Lucas and his

extravagant trips that he takes, not on taxpayer dimes, taxpayer dime, but even worse is the way it is funded

through something called the mayor's core of progress, which Mayor Richard Berkeley many,

many decades ago set up in Kansas City for business development. The Mayor's Corps of Progress was

business leaders in Kansas City, putting money into a mayor's fund where the mayor and his staff could, you know, bring in speakers, get conventions, do business in other cities to try to get companies to move to Kansas City.

It was a business development fund by the biggest businesses in Kansas City where the mayor and the city would

try to get things for Kansas City. It eventually at some point dissolved. Mayor Sly James

brought it back maybe about 10, 15 years ago. Mayor Sly James started using it. It remained in place

and it has now become a slush fund for Mayor Quentin Lucas.
