in weed history. Bean and I are both cannabis journalists and media makers, and this is kind of our

world. So on this show, we take you down some of the more interesting stories in the very, very

long history of human beings and cannabis,

a history that goes back thousands of years. And I have no prior knowledge of any of the

stories. Bean has done the research and he's going to be telling me. And I'm just going to be

reacting. Rolling J's, we're going to smoke. We're going to have some tea, have a few laughs,

and learn a little something about the history of cannabis.

So, Bean, what do you got for us today?

Oh, we have a really, really amazing story today.

It takes place starting in 1946, so an interesting time for cannabis.

Federal prohibitions less than 10 years old at that point, not that many.

Yeah, full swing.

And what's interesting about the story today before we get into it is it's kind of a,

it's about a very well-known person, a very famous person, a deservedly glorified person

that a lot of people look up to. And it's more of a personal

great moment. It's a great moment in her life with cannabis. And I think that's a valid way to think

of great moments in cannabis because we'll get into it, but we may never have come to know

of this person, if not for this personal great moment. Have you ever kind of had a moment with

cannabis where it changed the trajectory you were on in your life in a profound way? Oh, yeah,

absolutely. You know, I was, I had an injury when I was 22.

You know, my shoulder was completely fucked up.
