Hello super great kids and how are you doing?

It's nearly the beginning of a new year and we start with a story told by the wonderful

storyteller Amy Douglas. We're carrying on with fairy tales from around the world.

The fairy tale Amy is going to tell you today is a Traveller tale from Scotland.

Have you ever heard the expression you get what you give?

Well this story feels a bit like that. I wonder if you have a favorite expression in your house.

One of my favorite expressions which you know is teamwork makes the dream work

and also every Michael makes a muckle. Why don't you have a think if there are any

little sayings in your family while we have a quick word with the grown-ups?

I love questions far away. What is the best kind of story?

Well I think the best kind of story is an old story which has been told for many years

and passed on from person to person. Oh that's a good answer. I thought you're going to say something

specific like only Baba Yaga stories or a Nancy stories or stories that have to have two

head of giants in them. No just a story which has been loved and passed along and told by lots of

people. Right okay so if we really want more people to hear stories seems like we're going to

need help from our lovely listeners. Yes we know these stories because people have been sharing

them with each other for donkeys years. I tell you you tell someone else they tell someone else

and soon everyone knows the story. Hmm you know what Kim I think maybe it's such a good idea

...
