0:16.7	Let's start with the reflections.
0:18.4	We recently finished our 12th book of the Bible and we're currently working our way through
0:22.0	three others, so let's get the 30,000th of you on where we are in the chronological timeline
0:27.2	of the Bible's overall meta-narrative.
0:29.9	The Bible is one unified story.
0:32.0	Way back in Genesis, God set out to build a relationship with one particular family, but
0:36.2	things go terribly wrong when they fracture the relationship through sin.
0:39.7	But their sin doesn't surprise God.
0:41.8	He already had a plan in place to restore this relationship even before it was broken,
0:46.4	and he continues working out that plan immediately, undeterred and unhindered by their
0:51.1	rebellion.
0:52.3	He sets apart a man named Abraham to be the patriarch of the family, and he gives this
0:56.2	family a name, the Israelites.
0:58.4	They're a busted bunch of people who lie, cheat and steal.
1:01.9	God blesses them despite their sin, but sin still has its consequences.
1:06.1	One of the long storylines of consequence is of the 400 years they spent enslaved in
1:10.8	Egypt.
1:12.1	God sends a man named Moses to demonstrate his power to the Egyptian ruler who reluctantly
1:16.6	agrees to let the Israelites slaves go.
