Summary
Sun, sea and... school term! June is just weeks away now and it's a contender for one of the best months of the year to get away. In southern Europe you can expect warm temperatures (although expect cool seas!), and inexpensive flights due to a full month of term time for schools.
Also in this episode: what Rome and New York have in common. And, no, it's not a shared love of pizza.

| 0:57.0 | generally in Northern Ireland and Scotland, it is an non-school holiday month, which means that |
| 1:06.0 | if you are able to travel, you can expect much lower costs and emptier locations when you get there now we're |
| 1:14.8 | talking here specifically about particularly mediterranean tourist destinations so absolutely lovely time |
| 1:22.4 | of year to be on one of the spanish italian or greek islands getting hot on, of course, midsummer 21st of June, |
| 1:31.1 | is when you're really going to feel the sun as high in the sky as it's ever going to be. |
| 1:38.8 | And so my personal preference is for being rather further north, |
| 1:43.7 | when you can also take advantage of the fact that |
| 1:46.3 | getting towards the summer solstice you're going to get spectacular amounts of light. |
| 1:54.3 | So just going back to the heat, say in the more eastern parts of the Mediterranean, |
| 2:00.8 | I would have thought June would be pretty good actually |
| 2:02.6 | because July and August, you know, it's so incredibly hot. |
| 2:08.0 | You can't do anything. |
| 2:09.2 | But you're still thinking that June might still be a little bit warm, do you think? |
