0:00.0	Hi friends I'm Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. Well, let's read what happened right after the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus
0:14.6	Christ life on Earth. The friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles.
0:19.8	And the Book of Acts picks up right where the Gospels ends and takes us into the birth of the church, the continued
0:25.5	ministry of the disciples and the conversion in the first years of Paul's ministry as well.
0:30.4	This is the book that answers the questions.
0:32.6	So then what happened and what do we do now?
0:35.6	So here is how this works this month.
0:38.0	I'm going to read one chapter to you today.
0:39.6	We'll get through the whole book of Acts in 28 days and you can listen you can watch on
0:44.1	YouTube you can read along in your own Bible and then I'll maybe reflect a little bit
0:47.6	on what we read and then I'll pray and that's it. So today is day nine and
0:51.6	I'll be reading acts chapter nine in the new living translation
0:59.4	Acts nine
1:00.8	Meanwhile Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the
1:05.1	Lord's followers. So he went to the high priest. He requested letters addressed to
1:09.9	the Synagogues in Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any
1:13.7	followers of the way he found there. He wanted to bring them both men and women
1:18.3	back to Jerusalem in chains. As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him.
1:26.0	He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him,
1:28.0	Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?
1:31.0	Who are you, Lord? Saul asked.
1:33.0	And the voice replied, I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting.
