With the headline, Decade in Red, Trump tax figures show over $1 billion in business losses.

The Times reports that it appears Trump lost more money

than nearly any other individual American taxpayer. The Times also has a story that New York lawmakers

are moving closer to allowing the release of the president's state tax returns. The stock market

continues to fall as there is continued uncertainty over trade talks

according to the Wall Street Journal. And the AP is following the school shooting near Columbine,

where two students killed a classmate and injured eight in a community that marked 20th anniversary

of one of the worst school shootings just weeks ago. The Denver Post reports

Ivanka Trump has canceled her trip to the Denver area in the wake of the shooting. And we've got a

quick thought about Joe Biden this morning. The former vice president was the subject of lots of criticism,

including plenty in these pages, for taking his sweet time to get into the presidential

race. We said the field was taking shape without him, and we couldn't understand just what he was doing.

But now it appears that Biden wasn't as misguided as we thought. The buzz around Beto,

Buttigieg and Harris has subsided a bit. He's raising money at a clip many hadn't expected.

He's assembled a top-tier staff and put together an impressive list of endorsements in

early states like South Carolina, while other candidates are still trying to make inroads.

The truth is, he's acting like the frontrunner he is, sending daily schedules and his team

has organized a reporting

pool for his public fundraisers. So far, he hasn't had a cringeworthy gaff as so many predicted he would.
