0:00.0	Hey friends, I'm Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. Well, let's read what happened right after the Gospels.
0:08.0	The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
0:12.0	These are the stories of Jesus Christ life on earth,
0:14.3	the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. And the book of acts picks up right where
0:20.9	the Gospels ends and takes us into the birth of the church, the continued
0:25.1	ministry of the disciples and the conversion and first years of Paul's ministry as well.
0:29.8	This is the book that answers the question, so then what happened and what do we do now?
0:34.4	We say often around here you don't have to be in the Gospels every day to be changed but
0:37.3	every day you're in the Gospels will change you.
0:39.8	That is true about every book in the Bible that is especially true about the book of
0:43.2	acts so I'm really glad you're here with us today here's how this works I'm
0:46.7	going to read one chapter to you today you can listen or read along in your own
0:49.9	Bible and then I will reflect for a second and then we'll pray and that's it.
0:54.0	Today is day five and I'll be reading Acts Chapter 5 in the New Living
0:58.4	translation.
1:00.8	Acts Chapter 5. But there was a certain man named Ananias who, with his wife
1:10.3	Safira, sold some property. He brought part of the money to his wife's
1:15.0	's
1:20.0	's sold some property. He brought part of the money to the apostles,
1:15.8	claiming it was the full amount.
1:17.2	With his wife's consent, he kept the rest.
1:20.1	Then Peter said, Ananius, why have you let Satan fill your heart?
