Summary

Gene and guest cohost Tim Swartz present an evening with UFO researcher and publisher Philip Mantle, to discuss his book, “UFO Landings UK.” The book looks at UFO landing cases in the UK only (with the addition of the Republic of Ireland) beginning long before the modern era of UFOs began in 1947 right the way through to today. Case histories are separated into decades and come complete with photographs, documents, artwork and much more. The case histories featured in this book are looked at for their ‘high strangeness’ value. Mantle is an international UFO researcher, lecturer and broadcaster. His books have been published in six different languages around the world. He is the former Director of Investigations for the British UFO Research Association and former MUFON representative for England. Philip has written articles and features for numerous publications around the world and has been both editor and assistant editor of high street UFO publications. He is the founder of Flying Disk Press.

1:03.0	In fact, I live in a little town called Pontifract in West Yorkshire in the north of England.
1:10.0	And the sun's shining after a day of rain, so everything's looking rosy.
1:14.6	Now, I don't know if this is going to be a rosy comment to make,
1:18.6	but we had the UFO hearings last week in the US.
1:22.6	On a Tuesday, lasted 90 minutes.
1:26.6	Philip, I understand you watched it. Did you watch the whole thing?
1:31.7	Yeah, watched the whole thing, yeah. So tell us in 3,000 words or less. What did you think?
1:37.5	Well, not a lot, really. I thought it was going to go on for longer, to be honest, gentlemen.
1:42.6	I had no idea how long it was going to last.
1:45.6	Some of the political hearings they have here in open session, go on for, you know, go on all day.
1:51.8	So I was set for the day, but thankfully it was only 90 minutes. We didn't learn an awful lot.
1:58.8	National security seemed to be the overriding factor.
