0:25.0	Hi friends I'm Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. Well, let's read what happened right after the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles, and then the book of Acts picks up where the Gospels end and takes us into the birth of the church, the continued ministry of the disciples and the conversion in first years of Paul's ministry as well.
0:28.8	This is the book that answers the question, so then what happened and what do we do now?

0:34.0	I'm going to read one chapter to you today.

0:55.0	Acts 25. Three days after Festus arrived in Cessaria to take over his new responsibilities, he left for Jerusalem
1:01.0	where the leading priests and other Jewish leaders met with him and made
1:04.5	their accusations against Paul. They asked Festus as a favor to transfer Paul to Jerusalem
1:10.1	planning to ambush and kill him on the way.
1:13.0	The Festus replied that Paul was at Cessaria and he himself would be returning there soon.
1:18.0	So he said, those of you an authority can return with me.
1:21.0	If Paul has done anything wrong, you can make with me. If Paul has done anything wrong you can make your accusations.
1:25.1	About eight or ten days later, Festus returned to Cessaria and on the following day he took his
1:30.4	seat in court and ordered that Paul be brought in. When Paul arrived, the Jewish
1:34.8	leaders from Jerusalem gathered around and made many serious accusations they couldn't prove.
1:40.5	Paul denied the charges. I am not guilty of any crime against the Jewish laws or the temple or the Roman government, he said.
1:48.0	The infest us wanting to please the Jews, asked him, are you willing to go to Jerusalem and stay in trial
1:53.9	before me there but Paul replied no this is the official Roman court so I
