and battery in connection with the viral video that showed the suspect repeatedly punching

an old man in a Michigan nursing home.

A Florida mother who had claimed her autistic 9-year-old son was kidnapped by a black man

was charged with a boy's murder.

20-year-old Jaden Hayden of Michigan was arrested on Thursday, May 21st, on suspicion

of assault and battery on a Detroit nursing home resident.

The incident which police believed took place on May 15th was recorded and the footage

was widely shared online days before the arrest, provoking outrage.

In the video, allegedly recorded by Hayden, the suspect is seen repeatedly punching an

elderly man who was lying face down on his bed in the head.

At one point, the suspect pulls the victim off the bed, turns the camera to show his

bloodied face and says, quote, get the f off my bed.

Detroit police identified Hayden from the video.

The nursing home where the alleged assault took place is Westwood nursing center.
