0:15.7	hostility, a fragile ceasefire has taken hold in Israel. I will ask the Secretary of
0:22.0	State Anthony Blinken what comes next. We'll keep the Middle East conversation

0:42.1	global discord. But first here's my take. It's been the same way for decades.
0:49.4	Every time violence between the Israelis and Palestinians erupts, governments
0:54.1	around the world urge de-escalation, a ceasefire agreement is reached and experts
0:59.2	warn the situation cannot continue like this. But it has and it will.
1:05.1	Ultimately, this is not a problem that can be resolved through power where the
1:10.1	political or military. It can only be resolved through moral persuasion. The
1:16.7	recurring pattern of violence obscures a seismic shift that has taken place
1:21.0	over the last few decades. Israel is now the superpower of the Middle East. An
1:26.9	institute at Barrelon University recently laid out the disparities.
1:31.5	Israel's per capita GDP dwarfs that of its neighbors. It is 14 times that of
1:38.1	Egypt, 8 times that of Iran, 6 times that of Lebanon and even double that of Saudi
1:44.3	Arabia. Israel has built an industrial and information age economy that
1:48.9	excels in highly sophisticated arenas like artificial intelligence, aviation,
1:54.5	computer-aided design and biotechnology. It spends 5% of its GDP on
