My question is about Tim Scott.

This is the senator from South Carolina, Republican, who's announced for president.

I find him to be a really likable and compelling guy, even though he doesn't share my politics.

It seems an awful lot of liberal black folks are full of contempt for him, however.

I wonder if you think having a president with his background conservative,

African-American descendant of slaves, devout, I assume she means religious believer,

self-made, optimistic about America.

If having such a person as president would be good for the country's race relations,

or if it would splinter society in new and more unpredictable ways.

I think that it would be good for society.

And I'm not a Republican, but it would be good.
