Hi, friends. I am Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. In this month, the Let's Read

0:05.5

the Gospels podcast is sponsored by our friends at Crew. The Gospels are the first four books

0:10.4

of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of

0:14.5

Jesus Christ life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the

0:19.2

miracles. Each month, we read all four books. It takes about three chapters a day, and then

0:24.5

we get through all four of them in 30 days. So we are working our way through the month

0:28.9

of May. Go ahead and subscribe. Make sure you don't miss any of the days. But remember

0:32.1

what we always say. You don't have to be in the Gospels every day to be changed, but

0:35.9

every day you're in the Gospels will change you. So I'm really glad you're here with

0:39.4

us. Here's how it's going to work. I will read three chapters to you today. You can

0:42.9

listen or read along in your own Bible or online, and then I'll pray. And that's it. Today

0:47.6

is May 20th, day 20 of this month. I'll be reading Luke chapters 13 through 15. And this

0:53.1

month, I'm reading from the CSB version. Luke 13. At that time, some people came and reported

1:03.1

to him about the Galileans whose blood pilot had mixed with their sacrifices. And he responded

1:08.3

to them, do you think that these Galileans were more sinful than all the other Galileans

1:12.6

because they suffered these things? No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you will all

1:17.6

perish as well. Are these 18 that the tower of salome fell on and killed? Do you think

1:22.9

they were more sinful than all the other people who live in Jerusalem? No, I tell you.

1:26.8

But unless you repent, you will all perish as well. And he told this parable, a man had

1:32.7

a fig tree that was planted in his vineyard. He came looking for fruit on it and found

1:37.3

none. He told the vineyard worker, listen, for three years, I've come looking for fruit

1:41.8

on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down. Why shouldn't even waste the soil?
