| 0:51.0 | Yeah, Bob Nightingale for USA Today stuck around and talked to Adam Jones after the game. And he said that this is from Nightingale's article. He said it's one of the worst cases of fan abuse he's heard in his career. Quote, a disrespectful fan threw a bag of peanuts at me. I was called the N-word a handful of times tonight. Thanks. Pretty awesome. He said he's been subjected to racist hecklings in the past at Fenway Park, but it was the worst of his 12-year career. Quote, it's different, he said. Very unfortunate. I heard there were 59 or 60 ejections tonight in the ballpark. It is what it is, right? I just go out and I play baseball. It's unfortunate that people need to go and resort to these type of epithets to degrade another human being. I'm trying to make a living for myself and my family. It's unfortunate. The best thing about myself is that I continue to move on and still play the game hard. Let people be who they are. Let them show their true colors. So he said later on, talking about what the punishment should be for the person who threw the peanuts and yelled the N-word at him, he said it's pathetic, it's called a coward. What they need to do is that instead of kicking them out of the stadium, they need to find them $10,000, $20,000, $30,000, something that really hurts somebody. Make them pay in full. And if they don't, take it out of their check. |
| 2:01.3 | That's how you hurt somebody. |
| 2:02.6 | You suspend them from the stadium. What does that mean? It's a slap on the wrist. That guy needs to be confronted, and he needs to pay for what he's done. At the end of the day, when you throw an object onto the field of play, the player has no idea what it is. What if something hit me right in the eye and I can't play baseball anymore? |
| 2:17.4 | Then what? |
| 2:18.2 | I just wear it? |
| 2:19.0 | No. |
| 2:19.8 | Things like that need to be handled a little more problems. has no idea what it is. What if something hit me right in the eye and I can't play baseball anymore? Then what? |
| 2:18.2 | I just wear it? No. Things like that need to be handled a little more properly, in my opinion. All right, Tanner, it claims he was seven rows behind the peanut guy. Hello, Tanner. How are you guys doing? Hey, what's up? So the guy was like three sheets to the wind. This was late in the game. and he was sitting right behind the dugout |
| 2:35.9 | where he threw the peanuts |
