There are few decades in film history that have been as scrutinized as the 1980s.

But to really understand the decade and its movies, it's going to take a couple some ones

who were there for it the first time around.

Drew McQueenie and Scott Weinberg are ready to review every major film of the decade

one month at a time.

The look at what worked then, what endures now, and how it felt to be there when it all went

down.

It's the 80s all over. One One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, Shlamo, Shlamo, Shlamo, Haasel, Hoson, Femper Incorporated.

We're gonna do it all way to guess.

Shlamo, Shlamo, Laverne and Shirley got cancelled and leaving an entire generation of fans,

eternally wondering, what's up with the Big Ragu?

Every breath you take was released as a single,

and David Bowie's Let's Dance hit number one,

and 13-year-old Drew loved every goddamn second of it.

Reggie Jackson became the first major leaguer to ever strike out 2,000 times,

and I'm sure he's glad I'm reminding of that fact.

And finally, in a very real way, part of my childhood came to a close.

And we'll talk more about that as we get into this week's films from May of 1983.
