Fred, go ahead.

Good morning, guys. All this talk about Markle Fultz and drafting him. It's all fine and good, but can we finish series before we're ready to write out of town? Not running him out of town. No, we like, no, no. What I said is that if you get Fultz, because he's, I've seen people saying that you, that what's his face is better fit for the Celtics now, but I don't think that's how you draft. I think if you believe Fultz is a superior player. But the thing is is that he's similar to Isaiah Thomas, but his upside is probably greater just in terms of an all-around player. Again, I haven't seen this kid play. It's just all stuff I'm reading if you get a kid what's that I don't want to cut you off go ahead you're on a rant I'm not ranting I'm just saying

0:44.6

I'm just speaking this is I'm speaking measuredly is that if you try so if you do draft this kid and he

believe that he's the real deal and you have this young team, you have Isaiah for next season and then you can make a decision if you want to make him a max guy. You don't have to, you know, you don't have to do that. If you get a player and he believe that Fultz fills that need and maybe you can use the money that you would have spent on Isaiah on someone else, you know, it just leaves that door open. Look, I don't want to trade Isaiah Thomas. Here's the problem. Okay, Gordon Hayward, if he signs with the Celtics, it's four years on $130 million. That's what a max player is going to get. Al Horford is already making $30 million. Fultz is going to be $7. Fultz is going to be seven, so you have to make a decision here.

2:01.4

I mean, I understand the cap numbers went up for all NBA teams thanks to the contract, but I don't know if you can afford $3.30 million. I doubt it. Or, you know, do you think if Fultz ends up fulfilling that need, do you stick with Isaiah Thomas, or do you find a big man in free agency that you would like to spend that money on? That's another good point. And if Isaiah Thomas is getting, I mean, he's not an old man by any stretch of the imagination, but I mean, he's very small and how long is he going to be able to keep this up? Everyone loves him, but as circumstances stand,

2:19.6

you've got apparently a transcendent player who's going to be playing his position coming in as young as he can. You have to entertain the possibility of Isaiah playing elsewhere. We're not running them out of town, but there are a lot of options open to the Celtics here because they have the number one overall pick. Well, they're going to take faults, and then they might trade them in July if they were going to make a trade.

2:20.0

Yeah.

But the belief is, Prisengis is not going anywhere. Obviously, you're not going to, I don't think, oh, Jesus, on my head spinning. Paul, Paul George. Yes. Paul George is not going to sign here. That's a pie in the sky. But if he does, listen, if he's willing to sign here and you make that move, that's great. It might take a little bit more, but who knows? And then are you sold on giving up the number one pick for Jimmy Butler? There's people saying that if you give it the number one pick for Jimmy Butler, you might ask for more in return. I was until we talked to Chris Mannix yesterday. I mean, he's obviously very connected. And he was saying that even with Porzingis being, you know, if Perzingis was available, let's say that New York loses their mind, he said he still probably wouldn't trade that number one pick for Porzingis straight up. Well, the things that people are saying is that Phil Jackson,

3:13.7

it's the only good move he's made since he's been in the organization and that he would pretty much just hang up the phone if that was to happen.

3:19.0

But they're saying if you trade the number one overall pick for Jimmy Butler

3:22.5

that you would want something more in return than Jimmy Butler. What's the deal with that? Because I know Gordon Hayward, if you didn't hear, he did not make any of the all-NBA teams, which means he's not eligible for this thing called a Supermax contract. In other words, it means that the amount of money that he would have gotten that was more than every other team if he would have signed with a jazz, it's just not going to happen anymore. So he's basically been forced into an opt-out, and Fortune once again falls on the side of the Celtics. That being said, Isaiah's got another year. Him making the all-NBA team second all-NBA team this year, does that mean he's eligible for a super max contract when his is up? Because that could be a problem. You have to be in the league eight years. That was the problem with Hayward. Hayward's only been in a league seven years. He would have had to opt-in to get that eighth year and then hope he made the All-N-B-A team next year. Because that might be something the Celtics just can't afford if he's in Supermax territory. Now, I don't know if that only happens

4:17.6

to... year. Because that might be something the Celtics just can't afford if he's in Supermax territory. Now, I don't know if that only happens during the year before your contract is up, like with Gordon Hayward or if it's at any point while you're on the team. This all has to do. The new CBA. These are brand new rules. It's strange. Starting July 1. It Starting July 1, these are brand new rules. I'd actually know.

4:31.6

I was called Supermax.

4:32.6

It is Superduplex.

4:33.6

That's right. Which is the name of my new dog-inspired superhero comedy. Larry, go ahead. Hey, guys. How you doing? Hey. Hey, Fred, I agree with you. Take the pick. go get him and then try to get Haywood, which is sound like what they're going to do.

4:48.2

Now I know Isaiah's not old. I know he's small. I know he's pick, go get him, and then try to get Haylewood, which is, sounds like what they're going to do.

4:48.1

Now, I know Isaiah's not old. I know he's small. I know he's been doing a lot of work the last couple of years. But I think if you bring those two guys in, you can lighten up the, you know, Isaiah's load a little bit. You know, you still got three or four different guys who can score.

5:08.9

The only thing is now you've got to free up some spots, some money.

5:10.9

Get rid of Gump, get rid of Johnson.

5:14.5

And honestly, I would keep Rozier over Bradley.

5:17.3

Ooh, I don't know about that. Well, they're going to have to get rid of Bradley.

5:19.1

The hand might be forced.
