Police were determined to find Elizabeth Porteus's killer. Her friends knew she'd been

dating a man named Bill. In fact, two co-workers saw them together the night she died. The two were

last seen in a blue Mercedes. Investigators didn't have to search long to locate the

vehicle. Based on a description of the car, they found it the next day. Police arrested Bowden

and brought him in for questioning. He admitted he'd been on a date with Elizabeth and that he

was the owner of the cuff length they found near her body in her apartment.

However, Bowden initially insisted he had nothing to do with Elizabeth's murder, but the authorities

felt certain this was the same man who'd taken the lives of three other Canadian women.
