0:00.0	Hi friends I am Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. Well, let's read what happened right after the
0:06.9	Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark,
0:10.9	Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ, life on Earth,
0:14.4	the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. And the book of acts that comes
0:19.6	right after the book of John, it picks up where the Gospels end and it takes us into the
0:24.4	birth of the church, the continued ministry of the disciples to the Jews and the
0:29.2	Gentiles and the conversion in first years of Paul's ministry as well.
0:33.4	This is the book that answers the question,

1:04.3	And then I'll maybe reflect for a second and then I'll pray and that's it.
1:08.5	So today is day 14 and I'll be reading Acts chapter 14 in the new living translation.
1:18.9	Acts 14. The same thing happened in ICONium. Paul and Barnabas went to the Jewish
1:24.2	synagogue and preached with such power that a great number of both Jews and Greeks
1:28.7	became believers. Some of the Jews, however, spurned God's message and poisoned the minds of the Gentiles against Paul and Barnabas.
1:36.0	But the Apostles stayed there a long time preaching boldly about the grace of the Lord and the Lord proved their message was true by giving them power to do miraculous signs and wonders.
1:46.3	But the people of the town were divided in their opinion about them. Some sided with the Jews and some with the
