Today I'll bring you more on a new ferry link from the UK to Portugal. Could it actually happen this month?

understand the UK's Greenlist. And there's news of the surprise, busiest air route in the UK.

So what's happening in Portugal?

Well, it's the one country that's on the UK's green list that is actually a mainstream summer sun favourite.

An awful lot of people are booking to go there. Too-E, the biggest holiday

company in Britain, has just said that it is replacing some of the narrow-bodied Boeing 737s,

flying to Portugal with wide-bodied 7-8-7s. But an awful lot of people have been in touch with

us here at the independent

travel desk to say, hang on, I've got a car, I want to drive to Portugal, but I can't go through

France and Spain, partly because they've got tricky old rules, and partly because they are on

the Amber list, and I don't want a quarantine when I get back.

Now, Brittany Ferries is very actively considering a new link, possibly from Portsmouth,

probably from Plymouth, to Porto in northern Portugal.

If you've not been there, it is, frankly, one of Europe's most spectacular, beautiful, interesting, cultured, delicious and cheap cities.

I just love the place and I hope that you will get the opportunity to go there, whether

by air or by sea.
