We have a showdown this weekend between the Patriots who are 3 and 8, the Dolphins who are 4 and 6.

We have Phil Perry alongside.

We are going to plumb the depths of this matchup.

But more importantly, we're going to continue to interrogate the progress of one Drake May.

And there is going to be a point this weekend where there's a high leverage situation offensively for the Patriots.

And you're going to say, you know what?

Good time for the Patriots to take advantage of the feet and the arm of Drake May and let him

make a decision.

Let him be an athlete.

But the Patriots have been loathe to have Drake May as a designed run practitioner.

So Phil Perry on Wednesday asked Gerard Mayle,

hey Gerard, you're going to start to mix in a, you know, a couple runs for the kid.

Drake had eight scrambles against the Titans a few weeks ago. And he'd asked you about

designed runs for the quarterback. He said, you know, taking it up, it's just scrambling around, and you guys have been okay with that.

The scramble numbers have come down the last couple weeks.

I think he's got seven in the last two games.

Would you guys reconsider that plan for the design quarterback running in if he's not scrambling as much?

Well, our message to Drake, and we've had multiple conversations about this,

is to maintain being a quarterback as long as possible.
