founder. And Michelle, you have such a rich history in book publishing, so much advice to share with us.

Anika. I appreciate it. Yeah. So let's talk about your start

because you worked for traditional publisher, Crown Publishing, at the start of your career.

Did you know you wanted to get into publishing? Was that just something you fell into?

I just fell into it. I went for interviews after getting out of school and Crown was the first

company that offered me a job,

so I accepted. And that's how I got into publishing and I loved it from the very beginning.

Oh, wow. So what were the different roles that you played in those days? Well, I started at the

bottom of the ladder, putting together a catalog of what used to be called remainder books.

Back in the day, publishers had to publish large quantities of books in order to get a decent

unit price. And sometimes they got stuck with them if they didn't sell. So one of the things
