Excited to have Lucas Gialito and Max Scherzer on the show momentarily, but first, I want to be

truthful here.

We recorded this episode mere hours before Yermine Mercedes shook the baseball world by swinging

at a 3-0 pitch against Astadio, and then Tony

Luis came out and said his thing, and it all blew up. But once again, this all happened after

we taped the episode with Giolyto and Scherzer. Unfortunately, we just have to deal with their

schedules. They are professional baseball players, and Lucas is a co-host when he is available.

And so we appreciate their time. We won't be talking about it on this episode. We will in future

episodes, but still plenty of great stuff coming your way right now with Lucas Gialito and Max Scherzer.

Usually we would, you know, shoot the shit for 15 minutes before our guest arrives. But when you've got an A-lister in the baseball world, you'll welcome them in immediately.

Chris, how's it going?

Good to be on here.

Yeah, well, thank you for the time. First of all, you know, I always let our, my co-hosts know which guest I would like to have on the show. So I texted him. I said, hey, are you and Max Schurz are good. And Lucas, what did you write back about Max? Well, I made a little joke. I said, yeah, absolutely. Max was like my first pitching dad in the big leagues.

So, Max, what made you his pitching daddy?

You know, when everybody's breaking into big leagues, there's always somebody, you know, above you that's always been there before.

It doesn't matter who you are, everybody's got one. And so for me, I got to see Lucas when he got the debut in his first couple handful of starts.
