journeys of faith podcast so my guess this week is the teacher he's a pastor and a

prolific author Max Lakato has written 40 books and he has sold a hundred million

copies and counting. In this episode he's going to open up about his younger years.

He says that he was a disaster

waiting to happen. He was a converted drunk. He was disrespectful of women, a

self-described mess. And Locato is also one of the few pastors who has dipped his toe into the political

waters as rough as they may be. He's had some strong words about President Trump, so we'll dive into

that uncomfortable area where faith

and politics collide.

You have written now your 40th book,

Exactly.

And you sold what, 100 million copies of your books? Yeah, yeah. And it's crazy to think that when you

were submitting your first book, the first, it was rejected by 14 publishers

your first manuscript. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I got 14 rejections. That was back in the 80s and

like you mentioned that I was a missionary for a time in Brazil, I was living in Brazil at the time.
