Chapter 1 The House of Silence

In the Kingdom of North End, far away from the royal court and the trappings of decent

civilized folk, there was a great mind so deep and dark that no man had ever seen the

end of it. On the surface, it didn't look like much. A natural opening in the rock wide enough

for maybe ten dwarves marching side by side, but as you in deeper, it became a twisting mass

of dark tunnels and side chambers that split off and snaked away in passages as complete and complex

as the veins in your body. The miners who worked the caves, brave and hearty dwarves all,

could be heard to say that no dwarf has ever known more than a tenth of the mine secrets.
