Summary

When he arrived in Hawaii, Max Freedom Long, an elementary school teacher claimed that some Native Hawaiians were practicing what he called magic. Long wrote that at first he was skeptical of this magic, but later became convinced that it worked. He devoted the rest of his life to creating theories about how the Native Hawaiians did what he claimed they did, and teaching those theories through the sale of books and newsletters. The Secret within the larger Secret was the fact that there was a third self connected with man and his two lower selves. The nature of this High Self (Aumakua) and the means of gaining its aid also belonged to the inner Secret. In this the kahunas were very far ahead in their findings. They knew that they could never do more than guess at the fact of, or nature of Beings higher in the scale of consciousness than the High Selves. Their guess was a traditional one. They guessed that the Higher Beings would be similar to the lower ones which they knew in man. They subscribed to the ancient axiom "As above, so below." 0:13.4	Freedom Long, who was an American novelist and New Age author. In 1917, a year after graduating,

1:36.8	healing in psychic science, and the magic of miracles. Long's explanation and exploration of
1:43.4	Hoonah is really fascinating to me because it is talking about the
1:48.2	higher self in the same ways that it's discussed in the law of one. And they, through this system,
1:54.9	found ways to communicate with the higher self to actually get results in your life.
2:03.2	They have found through all the different things that it is a practical system of gaining
2:08.1	aid of the higher self in changing circumstances and the future of the individual.
2:14.3	It is also great in instant healing and in stuff like firewalking practices.
