The Flyers were back in action today in Vorhees, New Jersey, but the big story was Modvay Michkoff speaks for the first time in quite a while with his translator back from his time at the Olympics.

I'm Charlie O'Connor, the PHLY Flyers and PHLY Sports, and these are your Flyers post-practice notes.

The Flyers have just 26 games to go before the end of the 2025-20206 season, which means

just one-third of the season remains before this season is at an end. It also means that

plenty of players are running out of time to have the kinds of seasons they won it this year,

with Maffe Mishkov, chief among those players. Now, it's not that Mishkov has been truly awful.

He's still scoring goals, still scoring points,

but his goal totals and points pace are both down from his very promising rookie season.

He's certainly not having the sophomore season, at least thus far, that he wanted to have.

He also was the subject of some pre-Olympic break controversy, particularly on social media.

It all started with him getting only about 10 minutes in a game in the lead-up to the break.

And then Rick Tockett's comments coming from a question asked by Bill Matts of P.HL. Why Flyers started a bit of a social media firestorm that ultimately general manager, Janie Breyer, had to put out in the lead-up to the break.

Now, during all this, Mishkov was not available for comment.

He's still not able to go on the record in English,

which means that he needs to go through a translator.

And Mishkov's translator, Slavikuznetsov, was actually already overseas at the Olympic Games.

He's a skating coach for South Jersey figure skater Isobo Lovito.

So after practice, we did speak with Mishkov down in the locker room with Kuznetsov serving as translator.

And Mishkhov was first asked about his Olympic break, specifically how he trained and how he went about, becoming ready for that final third of the season.

Was there anything specifically focusing on during the break in terms of the training?

What's special to do you, for break?

Yeah, two training in a day. First one was a gym.
