I was like I'll handle this shit in the morning we got a little swap we got a little a little quarterback swap. Possibly the first of many this offseason.

We're going to be a lot of movement at the quarterback position.

So we've got Matt Stafford for heading to the Rams.

Jared Goff, two future first round picks, a third round pick this year going to the Lions.

The Lions obviously have to eat up that Jared Goff contract.

It's a hoard contract with a lot of money, but they said,

fuck it. We'll take it on. We'll eat it. We're a young team. Jared Goff is still 26 years old.

We'll let him play out his contract here and see what we got. You know, if he plays well,

if he surprises us, maybe he's our guy. Maybe not. This puts them in a little bit of an odd position because Stafford was out of there regardless, right? So they were fielding offers.

And some people, you know, you look at the trader initially and you see an overwhelming

majority of people saying, holy shit, like look what the lines got for a piece that, you know,

Stafford's a 33, 34 year old quarterback. He's dealt with injuries each of the last like four years,

three years consecutively. Is he out of his prime? Maybe, maybe not.

But he's probably the missing piece of the Rams offense, at least the quarterback was.

You also have to look at the landscape overall when you look at how this trade kind of played out

and the amount of stuff that the Lions got in return for Matt Stafford.

I think one of the big pieces of this and just the sheer quantity and volume of the assets that

they got in return, of course, one was to get the money off the books from the Rams from

cost contract, but they still do get a pretty heavy dead cap hit to them this year.
