Hey everybody. I'm Aaron Simmons. I'm a professor of philosophy and the president of the Soaring Kirkigard Society USA. I am here to ask you a few questions. Do you ever find yourself struggling with who you're

becoming, wrestling with how to be a Christian in the context of a church that is really, really hard to

navigate? Do you find yourself trying your best to live faithfully and yet struggling with

a world that says all that really matters is external success? Well, if you say yes to any of those

questions, then I've got the class for you. Tripp Fuller and I are going to be doing a six-week

intensive course on the work of Soren Kierkegaard.

It's called Getting Lost and Finding Faith Walking with Kierkegaard.

Because as we know, getting lost sucks.

But getting lost is also usually what allows us to discover things we otherwise might have missed along the way.

So maybe we need to get lost more in order to rethink who we are, where we are, and where we're trying to go.

It matters that we take seriously

what everybody else takes for granted.

And in this class, we're going to unpack Kierkegaard

this melancholy Danish thinker,

but who was fully invested in what it means to live well,

what it means to struggle toward becoming, and what it means to live well, what it means to struggle toward becoming, and what it means to

love God in a world where the name of God is often not more than just a way of reinforcing

our own social power.

An influence on Dietrich Bonhofer, an influence on other thinkers who have helped us reconsider

who we are and why it matters to think through these questions so carefully.
