On a bitter January morning in Lansing, Michigan,

Jackie Evans was longing for her warm bed. She pulled her scarf tight around her neck,

shivering a little as she crossed the street towards campus.

She wasn't usually up this early on a weekend, but balancing college and a full-time job

had proven difficult, signing up for Sunday classes seemed like the only solution.

She grabbed a desperately needed cup of coffee from the outdoor cart and headed into the building.

The hallways were quiet, only a handful of courses were taught on the weekends.

Most of the lights were off, which only added to her drowsiness.

As she neared her classroom, Jackie realized she was almost 20 minutes early for the 9am start time.

She peered into the room and saw it was empty. Not even her professor had arrived yet. Great.
