My name is Joe Thorne, I'm the lead pastor of Regime Fellowship in St. Charles, Illinois.

And as you guys know, Jimmy is, he's not on vacation, he's working, he's in Europe, he's doing

all kinds of stuff, very, very busy.

We're going to try and get Jimmy to call in at some point, and so we'll do something, we'll have some fun.

But in the meantime, I am interviewing, hanging out, talking to various people that I know you guys want us to talk to.

And today, we're joined by Dr. Matthew Barrett.

Dr. Barrett is the associate professor of Christian theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

You guys know we like that place. He is the founder and executive editor of Credo Magazine, the host of the Credo podcast.

And he is the author of a bunch of books, one of which is Christianity today's book of the year in theology called Simply Trinity,

the unmanipulated father, son and spirit.

Dr. Barrett, thank you for coming on to the podcast.

Hi, thank you for having me, it's great to join you.

And we've been having some guys on that we really respect, that teach the truth, but teach it in a way that is comprehensible and compelling.

And so, yeah, you were one of the guys, we're like, man, if we can get him on soon, that would be great.

And so, we're thrilled, we love your ministry, we love your teaching.

And yeah, big fans of where you're at now, they're at Midwestern, good stuff going on there.

Yeah, you know, it's exciting to be here, I've been here for five years now, believe it or not.

Yeah, it seems like time is fine, but just love teaching the students here and love getting to teach systematics.

We just actually revamped our PhD into sociology, so I can't wait to start that this fall.

So great, we'll talk about seminary in a bit, but I really enjoyed both Bible College and seminary, I guess I did the double dip.
