Welcome to another episode of Bible-centered with Victor Jackson.

I pray that you have been enjoying, going through the Gospel of Matthew verse by verse.

Today, I want to just highlight a particular story that Matthew is trying to highlight about the inferior nature of the religious system and even the inferior nature of the inferior nature of the Old Testament, to the New Testament, and the kingdom from heaven

that Jesus is instituting on earth.

Later, Hebrews talks about the superiority of the New Testament to the Old Testament.

The word Testament is another word for covenant.

So the Old Covenant and the New Covenant.

And how because of the disobedience of man that there was found fault with the old covenant the old testament and the bible says that if if if the old testament was faultless,

that there wouldn't be need for a New Testament.

But there was found fault in the Old Testament,

meaning because man was unable to live up to his part of the deal.

He was unable to live up to his part of the covenant. And so Jesus coming to earth was important because now understanding that man is frail and unable to live up to the conditions of the

covenant, what God does is he puts his name on man

in baptism, puts his spirit within man, and enables man to live out the covenant by his help.

God gave us a way of escape.

And now it wouldn't be man just only looking at documents on how to obey.

But God would give man his spirit, which in his spirit, he said, I would write my laws upon

your hearts.

And so what we have to understand is that Jesus Christ is just preeminent, that he is the most

important figure in the entire Bible.

And he is superior to the teachings of the rabbis.

He's superior to the interpretations of the scribes.
