| 0:41.3 | So we're going to jump into chapter four of the Gospel of Matthew, and it's the story of Jesus's |

| 0:51.9 | Jesus goes out in the wilderness, and he fasts and prays for 40 days and 40 nights. |
| 0:57.0 | And of course this is the passage that the church always gives us to begin Lent. |
| 1:02.0 | You know, as we do the 40 days of Lent. That's the scene here. |
| 1:06.0 | So we're going to dive into the temptation of Jesus. |
| 1:08.0 | But before we do that, Michael, you've been with me in Israel, and I don't know if you've |
| 1:11.5 | been with me in the Wadi Kelt, which is the traditional place in this valley that's just |
| 1:18.3 | in the Judean wilderness and goes up north of the city of Jericho, where Jesus, according to |
| 1:24.2 | tradition, prayed for the 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness. |
| 1:29.0 | And it would be an appropriate place. |
| 1:31.2 | I remember my first take my first hike down there. |
| 1:36.2 | There's all kinds of caves down in this canyon, and it's very, very hot. |
