Welcome back to Sochiology 101, all my theology geek friends.

I pray that you are having a great day in the Lord and that you are ready to theology geek out with

me with regard to Matthew chapter 23 verse 37 passage that we often use in defense of the

idea that man has a will of their own that God created us with the ability to choose to either accept or to

reject him, and that God desires genuinely for all people to accept him, though he doesn't

want automatons, as C.S. Lewis puts it, he doesn't want robots. He doesn't want puppets. He wants

people who have the ability to make choices because that's what's necessary for real love and relationship,

as we will talk about in this program.

And so what I want to go through is a recent sermon that was just sent to me yesterday from

Dr. James White, an Apology at Church.

He is an elder there, and he preaches there on occasion.

And he starts a message and talking through the

different ways in which non-Calvinist will oftentimes rebut the quote-unquote doctrines of grace.

And so I'm going to play just a little bit of his opener. And then I'm going to go right into

his exposition on Matthew 2337 and give our response.

I'm going to treat him kindly.

I hope that you will hear that I'm not going to try to misrepresent him.

I'm going to try to let him speak for himself and correct some misnomer's and

I think misdirection and some things that he does in this message that I think that people

should be aware of.

And so when we talk about this passage, I want us to come at it from a holistic vantage point

of understanding the passages that speak into this, understanding it from other cross references
