I hope you are enjoying the New Testament as much as I am.

Last year when we studied the Old Testament many of you made comments like,

I've always been scared to death of this book.

And yet it's starting to come to life and I'm enjoying it.

A lot of you said similar things about the doctrine of covenants.

That old book of rules says my grandma used to call.

And yet you fell in love with that book during your study there as well.

The New Testament probably didn't need a whole lot of extra help for you to fall in love with it.

This is a book that you've probably at least this first half, the Gospels.

We were all raised with, tell me the stories of Jesus.

And to be able to spend our time following him around the streets of Jerusalem

and the paths of Galilee, it's a privilege, it's a sacred honor.

And I hope that we are feeling close to him.

And just grateful for the opportunity we have to learn so directly from the Son of God.

We are going to learn directly from him today because we're going to be studying Matthew 15, 16, and 17.
