0:07.0	The next thing I like is verses 46 down to verse 55. This has a technical term
0:15.6	it's known as the Magnificut. Magnificut is just Latin for means to magnify
0:20.4	and it's given that name because in these verses we have Mary's response to
0:28.3	this great experience in her life. How did Mary feel about this? So kind of come
0:33.8	with me as we kind of go through this and Mary says, my soul doth magnify the
0:39.4	Lord, my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior. For he hath regarded the lower
0:49.8	state of his handmaiden. In other words, he's picked me. I'm a nowhere person from
0:56.4	a nowhere place. Why does he pick me? But because he has behold from henceforth
1:03.4	all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great
1:11.9	things and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from
1:19.4	generation to generation. Now both Hebrew and Greek the word fear is not like a
1:24.4	Halloween fear, but it is the fear of entering the presence of God because we
1:30.7	understand and reverence that he is something so much more than us. And the
1:38.4	other thing I like about here is Mary acknowledging God's mercy. I don't know
1:45.1	about you, but I've heard it said a couple of times or more that the God of the
1:49.0	Old Testament is a God of justice, the God of the New Testament is a God of
1:52.7	mercy. And I don't like that because if you read the Old Testament carefully,
1:57.5	what are the people there think of him? Repeatedly they're talking about his
2:03.5	mercy. And Mary as young as she is is acknowledging that God is a God of mercy.
2:09.6	He hath showed strength with his arm. He hath scattered the proud and the
2:14.9	imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats.
