I used to follow this account on Twitter I think it was called Bad Sports Refs or something in that vein and it was exactly what it promised to be.

0:13.2

It was just refs blowing calls in sports horribly and the social dynamic was a big part of

0:20.0

the draw for me because people go in there they would see what was just an

0:24.5

an arguably bad missed call and then they'd all pile on it was kind of fun

0:30.1

because you get mostly agreement but also part of the fun was inevitably you would have people who

0:36.0

root for the team that benefited from the botched call and they'd be in there being like no

0:41.5

if you look close like the ball is still kind of

0:44.7

moving and no like from this angle I well it might look like that from the camera

0:48.8

angle but I think and they would just talk themselves into wild pretzels of logical dishonesty to try and

0:57.6

justify the fact that their team got lucky and benefited from a thing.

1:02.0

But every now and then you would have something come down the pike there with one of these bad call videos where a ref would miss something or an umpire would miss something so in arguably glaring that it would

1:15.4

unify the internet for just that one glistening beautiful little moment where

1:19.9

everybody would be like no we all agree we have all verified this using our five

1:25.2

senses and have determined that indeed that call was wrong and surely if the

1:30.8

umpire or ref was watching the clip as well they'd be like yeah I got that one wrong and my

1:34.5

favorite ever is this clip from what I think is a Mexican Baseball League is somewhere in Latin America

1:39.7

and it's everything's normal there's a pitcher he's throwing pitches to a batter and if you're not a baseball person

1:45.3

that's all right this is still gonna make sense.

1:47.0

The pitcher winds up and he throws the pitch and it's a good pitch which means that

1:51.8

even if the batter doesn't swing it's a good pitch, which means that even if the batter doesn't swing, it's a strike.

1:55.0

The umpire is going to rule it a strike.

1:58.0

But the batter does swing and he misses, which means the umpire doesn't have to do anything.
