0:13.4	We're working our way through the Book of Matthew a little bit every weekday.
0:16.2	We've been working on this project for a very long time, and if you've been hanging
0:19.1	out with me at all, you've figured out that I have kind of a weird obsession with the
0:23.4	Pharisees, the sort of tragic bad guy character in the Gospels, particularly in the Gospel
0:29.7	of Matthew.
0:30.7	And you might as some boy be like, what is that about?
0:33.6	Why do you spend so much time talking about these guys?
0:35.6	And I get to thinking about that after the last couple of episodes, and you know, I think
0:40.0	the reason that I like to talk about them so much, and then I like to try to think about
0:43.3	the story from their perspective, is because I think I can relate to them more than I can
0:49.4	relate to Jesus.
0:51.4	Now before you turn the thing off, and you're like, I had always thought that you were
0:54.8	an absolutely horrible Christian, and now I know that for sure, like, don't get me wrong.
0:58.9	I'm not saying they're better.
1:01.1	Jesus is obviously the character I aspire to.
1:03.8	He looks great in this text.
1:05.8	All of his decisions are right.
1:07.4	His judgments are correct.
1:09.2	He keeps his cool.
1:10.2	He's not a manipulative weasel.
