I'm told by people way smarter than me about this whole internet gig that you want your

0:13.9

content to be evergreen you don't want to say stuff that is that is locked in a

0:17.9

moment in time because in a year or two years or whatever later it won't make as much

0:22.2

sense I think the thing I want to

0:24.5

talk about at this moment though is going to make sense for a long period of time

0:27.6

because I think everybody forever will recall the disastrous first debate of the 2020 American presidential election season that took place last night.

0:39.0

I know a bunch of people watched it. People are disillusioned, they're frustrated frustrated they're angry at each other

0:43.8

what a disappointing weird moment this is I'm offering no political commentary

0:49.4

whatsoever about one of the candidates or the other other than to say if you think that was a

0:55.4

1:18.6

burn each other down political rhetoric, is informing our relationships day to day not just on the internet

1:24.8

it at least used to be just on the internet and now it's leaked over into the rest of

1:28.6

our relationships and it's burning bridges and creating tension and friction and nastiness between individuals

1:35.2

and then that informs the politicians because they feel like

1:38.2

that gets attention and it works and that's how we are now.

1:41.5

So then they do more of it and then we see more of it and we do more of it and then we do more of it and then

1:44.3

they do more of it. This just has to stop at some point. But one of the most heartbreaking

1:49.4

things about all of this very disappointing moment we're going through right now is what it's doing to you and me.
