Summary
(00:00-26:22) – Query & Company opens on a Wednesday with Jake Query and Jimmy Cook discussing whether it was surprising that Jonathan Taylor remains a Colt while staying on the PUP list. Additionally, they get into some surprising moves across the NFL with rosters being trimmed from 90 players to 53 players.
(26:22-41:25) – Jimmy questions why Jake attacked him for playing music prior to 2000 yesterday but not Eddie. Eventually Jake gets around to his tease to end the previous segment pertaining to Anthony Richardson. Also, they receive a call from a listener asking questions about Jonathan Taylor.
(41:25-48:54) – Jake and Jimmy close out the first hour of the show with Jake sharing a story about his experience at the grocery store last night because he needs producer Eddie Garrison and Jimmy to tell him if he was in the wrong or not.
(48:54-1:18:11) – The IndyStar’s Joel Erickson joins Jake and Jimmy on Query & Company to access where things are at between the Colts and Jonathan Taylor, how comparable the situation Justin Fields was in for his first two seasons and what the Colts are doing with Anthony Richardson, how Chris Ballard isn’t helping Richardson with other four wide receivers on the roster, and the biggest reason why Darius Rush was waived and not retained on the roster after utilizing a fifth-round draft pick on him in 2023.
(1:18:11-1:34:04) – With college football starting this weekend, Jake asks Jimmy and Eddie which college they would attend if they had every school offering them to play football at their program. This sparks a conversation about what Deion Sanders is doing at Colorado and whether Jake wants to see them succeed or not.
(1:34:04-1:38:09) – The one o’clock hour concludes with the show going completely off the rails between Jake misspeaking about the time Matt Verderame is joining the program and Eddie playing the wrong bump from break.
(1:38:09-2:05:04) – The final hour of the show starts with Jake and Jimmy recapping all the events that have led to where the Indianapolis Colts are right now with Jonathan Taylor. Jake tries to make a case that the two sides could come together and realize that they are meant to be together. Jimmy reacts to Jake’s opinion that he thinks the Colts giving JT the chance to explore a trade was a chess move that will ultimately bring him back to Indianapolis.
(2:05:04-2:22:39) – Matt Verderame of Sports Illustrated joins Query & Company with Jake Query and Jimmy Cook to share his perspective on what happens next with Jonathan Taylor, what the Colts need to do now with only three wide receivers on the active roster, how important it is for Chris Ballard to overspend at wide receiver to help Anthony Richardson develop, and debates who will play first between Chiefs DL Chris Jones and Jonathan Taylor.
(2:22:39-2:27:39) – Today’s show ends with JMV joining the guys in studio to preview what’s coming up from 3pm-6pm!
