Summary
#124 is Matt Rutherford (again). Matt and Nicole recently returned from another lengthy expedition, this one to the far northern reaches of Greenland in pursuit of scientific research.
Matt & Nicole made it all the way to 78º North, further even than Nasa this summer, and helped chart one of the last areas on earth that's never been surveyed before. We talked about the expedition, the logistics of navigating 24/7 in thick ice, how they anchored and what anchoring hardware they used, the locals, wildlife, carrying rifles ashore and polar bears! Check out his blog on oceanresearchproject.org.

We use maps. We use these really corny, they're called Viking Saga series. They were like tourist maps. They're like the corniest looking tourist maps. And we use these to navigate because there's no depth. |

| 1:05.9 | Where do you recommend people get started if they want to start doing their own sale and canvas work? |
| 1:07.4 | Yeah, yeah. |
| 1:30.3 | The best thing to do is go to our how-to section of sailwright.com and start watching some videos. Find a smaller project first with things like main sale covers or fordick bags or even awnings or even a bimony. Those are pretty straightforward projects. Watch the video. You can do these things on a home sewing machine. So if you want to do a smaller project on your |
| 1:35.3 | existing equipment, give it a go. Once you decide that the sewing machine is becoming more of |
| 1:40.3 | a hindrance than a help, then you buy our alter feet sewing machine, and that'll take |
| 1:44.7 | care of the tool issue, and the rest of it, once you get going, it becomes, it's addictive. |
| 1:54.6 | Sailwright, equipping you to sew on the water or at home. |

| 2:16.0 | Cool, so I'm recording this intro from the Nav station on East Bjorn, and we're anchored out in Back Creek, or I should say, rafted in Back Creek, with our friends Lee and Rachel aboard their Tiana 37 Saturi, and another boat, my friends Tom and Darlene, on their Erickson 35 Jubilee. |
